Double zipper fanny pack

Double zipper fanny pack

*angels singing* for the Savior...

April 08, 2017

So, this fanny pack from le sport sac, is seriously one of the best gifts i have ever received. Dean got it for me (arigato!!!!) before our trip to Las Vegas (2016) and I have used regularly since then. But,now that I'm a mother...the title of this blog says it all...

first thing:

its thin.

Like seriously, it's not like my already curved body need anything extra bulky at the hips, so the thinness of this fanny pack is just genius. Also, because it's thin, it's super light which is another plus for the curvy lady who is carrying a baby and/or lugging around a crazy heavy stroller...

Next:

omg, my hands are free.

so that was the original selling point when we were traveling because no one likes a big bulky bag getting in the way of everything.

Nothing says country bumpkin more than large luggage, riiiiiiight?

Anyway now that I'm a mom:

it's not like I can pack a whole bunch of diapers and wipes into a waist bag, so of course I have my normal baby bag with me, but I'm also not changing Yume every second of the day, so the large baby bag can stay in the car.

What I  do need at all moments of my outings are: my keys, cell phone, one shade of lipstick, and my wallet. (And a Wipey, because Yume drools. Lol) all of those fit perfectly in my waist bag. So I can wear the waistbag, push the stroller, and not look like a Dodge Ram truck plowing down the isles of Target with all my gear.

If a diaper accident happens, which (thankfully) hasn't yet, I could just easily check out and do the diaper change in my newly cleaned trunk (thank you Dean-san!) **--of course every time I think something is oh-so-easy, I'm also oh-so-wrong--** but...I'll cross that bridge when i get there.

(Luckily?) I'm paranoid of explosive diapers, so i've tried to keep all outings under 2-3 hours, and i make it a point to change her before we leave. So, maybe that's why I've been lucky? Idk...

I know blow out diapers happen, but lord knows if it happens while shopping that I'm just leaving my merchandise in the store and rolling my doo-doo girl out to car for a diaper change.  No purchase is so important  that I gotta make Yoomz super uncomfortable and stinky~~plus, I think with all the crying associated with the blow out, leaving the public just seems like the best option

anyway my last point...

i don't care what anyone says about the waistbag/fanny pack, I think it's fashionable. Again, whether you're traveling, Going on your daily jog, or a new mom..... being a walking load of luggage just doesn't look chic.

And, I knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww all of my friends and family are reading that last line in disbelief because, I've always carried a HUGE bag with me filled with alllllll kinds of things everywhere....

but I knew i wasn't looking super chic with my duffel bag of stuff. I was going more for the working-messy artist (with I think, an undiagnosed case of ADHD) look.

And yes, at that time I needed scissors, and a sketchbook, and a journal, and a book, and an iPod, and a thing of yarn, and 5000 crochet needles because I liked to be occupied with something at allllll times (hello, see what I mean about the undiagnosed adult ADHD).

My brain was and will always be busy, so my hands need to be as well.

but, duh..i don't need all of the art gear while traveling (especially since most of it will be confiscated by TSA), and I definitely don't need it now that i got baby Yume with me 24/7.

I'm sure when she's school aged, I'll go back to being a one-man walking art studio, but until then, I'm Ms. waist-bag, Arms free, chic-chick Just trying to buy some groceries, and live my life as simple as possible.

Thank you le sport sac, for designing something to make that possible.

you should get one too...

love, light, and loadfree,

winnie
