My brain is aquarium and all of my thoughts are fish just floating around.
When I try to grab one of the fish with just my bare hands, it slips and slides out of my grasp--falling to the floor, flopping.
Many times I'm only able to hold it once its no longer moving...
always a little late...even though I may have had the idea for years...
Before I grab another fish, I need a plan... I can't risk another goldfish.
I need a net, and I need a new bowl for my fish to survive...
I will wait with the net for the idea to swim into it
scoop it up and quickly move that idea to the next phase...
hmm...strangely this metaphor is really helping me see things clearly.
So...to keep my fish alive
I gotta already have things set up and then patiently (but quickly) I gotta apply my idea to something I've already set in place....meaning, when i get a new idea, I should already start shopping for a new tank to keep the idea alive.
Because (in reality) the fish that are in my head multiple too quickly and over-crowd the tank. A lot of really great things get lost quickly and/or simply die because other (unimportant) ideas eat the good ones first.
So...the goal for 2016:
Get a net
and start investing in some new tanks to save the good ideas before they die~~
...and of course, have plenty of food to keep these ideas nourished
hmmm....this ended up being way deeper and far more meaningful than I intended.
