Winnie is wonderful

Winnie is wonderful

The bright sun and colors of Hawaii inspires local artist, Winifred Patterson. She was born in 1982 and received her Bachelors in Fine Arts in 2007 from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Winifred’s work is eye catching with striking patterns. Her work dances between the interrelated themes of self, identity, demeanor, and appearance. She uses fashionable textile prints to express the repetition of life events, as well as to emphasize the beauty of internalized moments.

Winifred’s artwork has been displayed throughout Honolulu's hip Chinatown district, retails store such as Super Citizen in Kahala Mall, and  all over Waikiki.

She is currently doing business as  “The Free Art Movement” working to create merchandise with her  new series of fashionable pen-and-ink illustrations titled “On my mind.”

These drawings focus strictly on women and the sometimes witty, sometimes heartbreaking  thoughts and obligations which occupy their mind (and linger “in their hair”)
